TWO MEN ON MOTORCYCLES WERE INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE NORTHBOUND ENTRANCE RAMP TO THE INTERSTATE. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 81 YEAR OLD ALBERTA SHERWOOD OF ARCADIA WAS EASTBOUND ON HARBORVIEW ROAD IN THE LEFT TURN LANE APPROACHING THE NORTHBOUND I-75 ENTRANCE RAMP JUST BEFORE 8PM LAST NIGHT WHEN SHE TURNED INTO THE PATH OF A WESTBOUND MOTORCYCLE THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 62 YEAR OLD STEPHEN GARVAIS OF PORT CHARLOTTE. GARVAIS LAID HIS BIKE DOWN BUT COULD NOT AVOID HITTING SHERWOOD’S CAR. THE IMPACT THREW HIM FROM HIS CYCLE, AND HE WAS RUN OVER BY ANOTHER CYCLE DRIVEN BY 65 YEAR OLD CARL DRAWDY OF PUNTA GORDA. GARVAIS WAS AIRLIFTED TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION, WHILE DRAWDY WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR MINOR INJURES. SHERWOOD WAS NOT INJURED, BUT SHE WAS CITED BY TROOPERS FOR FAILURE TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY.
