CHARLOTTE COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES ARE INVESTIGATING AN ARMED ROBBERY THAT OCCURRED EARLY THIS MORNING AT A PORT CHARLOTTE CIRCLE K.  DEPUTIES RECEIVED THE CALL JUST BEFORE 3:45AM FROM THE CLERK AT THE STORE ON KINGS HIGHWAY JUST SOUTH OF MIDWAY BOULEVARD WHO SAID TWO BLACK MEN ENTERED THE STORE AND ONE PULLED A HANDGUN ON HIM.  THEY TOOK AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF CASH FROM THE REGISTERS ALONG WITH A CARTON OF CIGARETTES AND THE CLERK’S WALLET.  HE WAS THEN PUT IN A WALK-IN COOLER.  DETECTIVES SAID ONE SUSPECT WAS ABOUT 24 YEARS OLD WITH SHORT HAIR AND A THIN BUILD.  HE WAS WEARING A RED COLORED BULLS JERSEY WITH THE NUMBER ONE ON THE FRONT AND BACK ALONG WITH DARK PANTS.  THE OTHER SUSPECT WAS ABOUT 28, HEAVY SET, WITH SHORT HAIR.  HE WAS WEARING A PURPLE TEE SHIRT WITH “DON’T DO DRUGS; SMOKE WEED” ON THE FRONT AND LONG DARK PANTS.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT 639-2101, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 800-780-TIPS.
