A PORT CHARLOTTE TEEN ARRESTED EARLIER THIS WEEK IS BACK BEHIND BARS AFTER HE WAS OBSERVED IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE PUNTA GORDA WAL-MART THURSDAY MORNING. CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY 19 YEAR OLD NICKOLAS SCHARMBERG WAS SPOTTED JUST AFTER 7AM AFTER A BE-ON-THE-LOOKOUT WAS ISSUED WEDNESDAY FOLLOWING TWO SWAT RAIDS FOR WEAPONS WERE EXECUTED ON TUESDAY. MORE CHARGES WERE TO BE FILED AGAINST SCHARMBERG, WHO BONDED OUT OF JAIL AFTER POSTING $20,000 DOLLARS BOND ON MONDAY, BUT HE COULD NOT BE LOCATED. AUTHORITIES THOUGHT HE MIGHT BE ARMED AND DANGEROUS, AND WHEN A DEPUTY ARRESTED HIM THURSDAY MORNING, THEY FOUND A KITCHEN KNIFE STICKING OUT OF HIS LEFT SLEEVE. WHEN SEARCHED MORE THOROUGHLY, DEPUTIES FOUND A SMALL PACKAGE OF CHILDREN’S IRON ON PATCHES IN HIS WAISTBAND. THE WAL-MART MANAGER CONFIRMED THE ITEMS WERE STOLEN FROM THE STORE. SCHARMBERG WAS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF DEALING IN STOLEN PROPERTY, ONE COUNT OF GRAND THEFT, AND RETAIL THEFT. HE IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL AND DETECTIVES SAY THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.
