ONE WOMAN WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER THE VEHICLE SHE WAS A PASSENGER IN ROLLED OVER TRYING TO AVOID A GARBAGE CAN ON THE INTERSTATE.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 50 YEAR OLD RICHARD DELACY OF PORT CHARLOTTE WAS HEADING NORTH ON 75 AT AROUND 10:50 WEDNESDAY MORNING WHEN A 25 GALLON GARBAGE CAN IN THE BACK OF HIS CHEVY SILVERADO FLEW OUT OF HIS TRUCK.  19 YEAR OLD TARA GILOT TRIED TO AVOID HITTING THE CAN BY VEERING HER MITSUBISHI MONTERO TO THE LEFT ONTO THE GRASSY MEDIAN, BUT IT ROLLED OVER, THROWING 67 YEAR OLD PASSENGER MARIE BELIZAIRE TO THE GROUND.  SHE WAS AIRLIFTED TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION, WHILE GILOT, 18 YEAR OLD SARA GILOT, 43 YEAR OLD ROSELENE GILOT, AND 45 YEAR OLD GERTY ESTRA ALL RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES AND WERE TAKEN TO CHARLOTTE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER.  DELACY AND A PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.  A PASSERBY ALERTED DELACY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND HE RETURNED TO THE SCENE.  HE WAS CITED FOR FAILURE TO SECURE HIS LOAD.
